Anyone using an OEM version or non CANON branded battery & notice any problems or have done a comparison? I'm in debate whether to purchase the extra $$ few bucks on a Canon branded battery pack or to buy an OEM or non-branded LP-E8 battery. Any advice, recommendations, or thoughts?
LP-E8 battery for the Canon T2i/550D in particular.
I use this LPE8 battery as a spare battery for my EOS 550D camera. After almost a month of use I cannot distinguish between this and Canon OEM battery in terms of battery life, quality, ease of use. No issues of any kind. Buy 2 packs only $32.22 on amazon.

Bringing Canon Rebel XTi on board Singapore Airline?
Just wondering will I be able to bring my Canon Rebel XTi (Canon EOS 400D) on board as a carry on Singapore Airline? I checked their website and it only says:
All airline members of the International Air transport Association (IATA) have agreed to observe the following baggage regulations. You may carry on board the articles listed below free of charge over and above your free baggage allowance:
A lady’s handbag
An overcoat
An umbrella or walking stick
A laptop or notebook computer
A small camera
I'd only bring 1 lens (the lens kit that came with the camera) and the bag. Will this be ok? I'd hate to pack it inside a suitcase as a checked in luggage.
Oh and I'll be flying from Jakarta, Indonesia to China. Thanks!
That is an automated message never helpful. Lets put it this way if it fits on as a carry-on and doesn't have water or a weapon on it, it will go through. I brought a PS3 on board a plane and i got threw will very little problems. So the camera should be fine.
And just as a heads up try to bring on the plane as little film as possible. Pack the film but bring the camera with you. Have a nice flight.

Pro and cons? What is DIF. between him and the T1i?
Canon EOS Rebel 15.1 Megapixel CMOS T1i DSLR with 3 inch LCD and EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS Lens http://www.amazon.com/dp/B001XURPQS? tag = Dcmb-20 Review: I had the T1i about almost weeks now and after some heavy use, here are my thoughts: 1 15.1-megapixel sensor. Yes, it is the number of megapixels of high impressive, but keep this in my head as one approaches higher resolutions, you should make sure that the lens on the SLR, which can solve many details. Unfortunately, the 18-55mm IS included is functional, but the high resolution really shows what we kind of quality of the lens. point, even if they are taken to the right, images may appear This kit soft goal. Plans I Canon EF-S 17-85mm and EF 70-200mm L lenses are included crispy. I have no abdominal pain on the quality of the image. There are some problems with noise above ISOs, which do not seem to appear on Nikon Digital, but overall the quality is incredible for the price. Skin tones, textures, colors are reproduced very accurately. 2nd 4th DIGIC DIGIC 4 seems to process / save the 15-megapixel images in the same time (if not faster) than the DIGIC III for xsi (also in RAW + JPG mode). I also noticed that, at most ISOs, the sensor and DIGIC 4 produce images with less noise compared to its predecessors. 3rd monitor. The 920,000 pixel LCD screen is large (3 "), strong, dynamic and highly visible even in bright sunlight. In comparison, the Canon XSi SLR (the T1i replaced), also has a 3 "LCD, but with 230,000 pixels. The angle vision is broad, and both the LCD easy to see that almost 180th Grade 4 ISO 12800th Canon and Amazon should be correctly identified as T1i maxes to ISO 3200 list some less reputable dealers in ISO 12800, which should be ignored. ISO 6400 and 12,800 Settings, ISO is extended. The images on these two parameters are defined, pushed to ISO 3200 to ISO 6400 or 12,800 pictures DIGIC 4 chip before saving to memory card. These images are extremely rude and have a lot of noise to the point that as a useful complement for snapshots or artistic effect to certain compositions. 5th Penta-mirror. The Canon still uses it is disappointing in T1i. The penta-mirror viewfinder is functional, but still significantly darker than that of penta-prism viewfinder in the Nikon D90 (which is the main competitor of the T1i's). I preferred the Canon XSI 12.2-megapixel waived, would have retained Video 1080p at all, and perhaps increased the cost of the device easily cover the cost of using a penta-prism T1i. Frankly, unless you are massive you cut your images, or create beautiful photos, the difference from 12.2 to 15.1 million pixels is really negligible. 6th Size. This is the same location as the XSI, and therefore a bit on the small side compared to other digital SLR cameras. I have small hands, so that the T1i comfort me. If you have large hands may have, I see that it is very difficult to operate a camera for an extended period. If you do not a Canon XT or XTi XSI, I would suggest you go into a store and keep T1i before buying online. (I want a photo in my hands T1i User's Gallery Send to a size on.) 7 HD video. Yes, Canon's marketing department has taken a terrible decision and marketing to the shelves T1i limit registration 1080p 20fps (frames per second). Recognize that this is a marketing gimmick that they can put a sticker 1080p on the box camera. The 1080p @ 20fps is fine most of the time, but that seems cut when lot of action in the frame, or pan quickly. The T1i is recorded at 30 frames per second 720p video, and it is clean, smooth and sufficient for all but the most demanding consumers. A major criticism is that the Sound is recorded in mono, and there is no entry for an external microphone. Many comments were pre-production T1i criticize its inability Automatic autofocus while recording. I would not put much weight in this review, especially because none of the other two SLR cameras with capability HD recording (Canon 5D Mark II and Nikon D90) can not autofocus automatically during recording. What you can with T1i is Pan / zoom, then press the AE Lock (*) key autofocus camera on the new subject (do nothing during recording). A problem with the knob AE-Lock, the camera has autofocus, is that the microphone of the camera on the top front of the body near the lens mount on the left. Therefore, the lens motor noise picked up is just as ambient sounds. Even with my most peaceful Canon USM (ultasonic motor) lenses, lens motor noise is very loud video playback. Though remember, you can always manually turn the focus ring on the Lens to get your theme back to the point. It is not easy, but after a little practice, it is not too difficult either. Ultimately, you shoulder
